How can I transfer to another school?
How can I transfer to another school?
Requesting a transfer to another school.
As an F1 student, you can choose to transfer schools if you wish.
Initial Student
To transfer before starting classes at Approach, you must report to Approach prior to the starting date on your I-20 and bring us an acceptance letter to another SEVP-certified school with a program start date fewer than 30 days from your initial admission into the United States or of the change of status approval date. Otherwise, the student must enroll at Approach and attend at least one session before transferring.
Current Student
Once you start classes at APPROACH, you may request a transfer to another institution anytime prior to graduating from our program. To request a transfer, you must bring us the acceptance letter from the school you wish to attend prior to the last day of classes in the current quarter. Students who are in good academic standing with a minimum of 80% attendance and 2.7 GPA are considered to have been maintaining their F1 status and will transfer to SEVIS ACTIVE status.
Your transfer release date depends on the date you will start classes at the new school, travel plans, and academic needs. Most students transfer at the end of each quarter unless the program you seek to attend starts during the current quarter. To start your transfer process, you must email the acceptance letter from the school you wish to attend along with the SEVP school code and contact information from the DSO at your new school. This email should be sent to help@approachusa.com.
